Joshua is thrilled to be performing three of Mozart’s iconic roles in one season. Last seen in his critically acclaimed performance as Papageno, he begins the season with a return to Washington National Opera as Count Almaviva, a signature role. This Le nozze di Figaro features a spectacular cast led by conductor James Gaffigan. Later in the season, Joshua brings his renowned portrayal of Papageno to the Canadian Opera Company with Bernard Labadie at the helm. Finally, Joshua is delighted to be making his company and role debut as Don Giovanni with Utah Opera.
Other highlights of his season include a world premiere with Houston Grand Opera as Harry Bailey in Jake Heggie’s It’s a Wonderful Life. Next summer, he returns to Santa Fe Opera as Dr. Falke in a new Ned Canty production of Die Fledermaus.
Furthering his commitment to concert work, Joshua joins the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center at Alice Tully Hall, performing Vaughan Williams’ Songs of Travel and select Scottish National Songs by Weber. Later in the season, he will perform pieces by Barber and Butterworth with Chamber Music Hamilton.
