On January 19th at 1 pm EST, Joshua is thrilled to appear in his second ‘Live in HD’ directly from the Metropolitan Opera, singing the role of Lord Guglielmo Cecil.  Now entering its seventh season, The Met: Live in HD can be seen in 64 countries in just about every important world capital from Paris to Cairo.

In a powerful production by Sir David McVicar, Joyce DiDonato stars as Mary, Queen of Scots in the first-ever Met production of Donizetti’s intensely dramatic historical opera.  Elza van den Heever makes her Met debut as Mary’s rival, the formidable Queen Elizabeth I, and Matthew Polenzani sings Leicester, the nobleman caught between the two dueling monarchs.  Maurizio Benini conducts.  Soprano Deborah Voigt hosts the transmission and conducts backstage interviews with the stars.  (Running time: approximately 166 minutes, including one intermission.)
